An Easy, Fast, Cheap—Even "Green"—Two-Minute Spa Treatment for Hands or Rough Skin
Freckles and Dirt—Gone; A Day in the Garden—Priceless
Did you try this simple baking soda hand spa treatment?
If you answered yes to the question above, what did you think about the results?
With Baking Soda, It's Almost Free and Totally Easy
For a quick pick-me-up, try this little trick to rejuvenate your hands or other rough or dirty skin.
Put a drop of liquid dish soap in your palm, add about a tablespoon of baking soda and a few drops of water. Rub your hands together to make a paste that's a little thicker than the consistency of school glue (add more water if it's too thick, more baking soda if it's too runny). Rub your hands together gently but firmly for about a minute, then rinse them clean and gently pat them dry. Your hands will feel years younger and softer and your nails will thank you, too.
Try this treatment on your elbows, feet, knees, or any area of skin you'd like to make baby-soft and clean. If you're using this on your face, of course, use great caution to keep the paste out of your eyes (call the poison control center if an accident occurs). However, your face will come out looking fresh, clean, and younger every time.
Note that this treatment is great at getting ball-point pen ink, oil, smells (including onion and garlic), adhesives from price tags, and other gook off of your hands, too. I always use this method (rather than harsher cleaners) to get the oil, grease, and gas smells off of my hands after I've been working on the car or painting. Keep a shaker of baking soda by the kitchen sinkāit can be used for all sorts of things, even cleaning the kitchen sink!
Let me know if you try this method and find that it works, or if you have a better method!
